I have a tail light problem on an 02 Viper ER. The brake light stays on all the time. The wiring under the seat is good. I unplug the brake light switch under the handle bar pad and it goes out. What do you think?
1 brake light switch? cant be very common
2 fuse/relay problem? Dont know.

brake light switch froze?? you can undo them witha screw or bolt in middle of it and try and move the tang back and forth, it may just need lubed or thawed out if it had wter in it from washing the sled.

How is the sensor hook up on the handle bar? There is a little cylinder that is on the stock brake lever and the sensor goes on top of that. Just a thought.

I have the same problem with mine ,If you follow the brake line to where it go's into the brake assembly there is a little round black thing that has a tab that goes up into the housing .The tab should stay stationary but on mine the tab broke off and the little round deal(real technical terms I know) spun and now is reading that your brake lever is pulled in. Let me know if thats it.

Thanks to everyone as always. Seems I didnt get the whole story. She fliped it on it's left side and after closer inspection the brake light switch under the lever is the problem. $23.00 from Yamaha.
