Help! I installed a Aaen pipe, Boyesen Reeds and the carb updates on a friends 98 mtn lite and now it has a very bad bog off idle. You really have to ease gently into the trottle to avoid it. Opening the choke slightly will get you through it but that is no way to ride in the powder. It also seems to get worse at altitude. I've richened the mains and the pilots, checked the port between the main and pilot, checked the float levels, loosened the chokes, and even tried to get the engagement speed up to get around it. Any ideas(besides giving the parts to you and going back stock!) Thanks for any help!

If your adding choke and it is making it better why don't you richen the jet that controls idle. If your taking away air and its running better it means theres to little fuel.
I think... anyone else?
I'm better on 4 strokes.

Ok , I need to get this straight... You said altitude make's it worse, So the higher you go the richer it is getting. Then you said "opening the choke" makes it better. Are you riding it with choke closed (lever up)? or Did you mean to say "closing the choke" ? If closing the choke makes it better you are also richening the mixture. So the two statements are contradicting. The best mod for this sled is a set of Flatslides from a v-max 500 or 600, Complete tunablilty for every circut !

I meant opening the choke lever. Richening the mixture. I have already gone up to 105 on the pilot jets. It seems like a contradiction. Thats why I am posting for ideas. Something else is going on here that seems to go against normal logic!

what carbs are they. Just asking since it sounds like 105 pilot jets are way to rich. my 570 has Mukuni vm38 on it and i am only running a 40 pilot with 270 mains.

The carbs are the mikuni butterfly carbs. Stock except for the updates.
