i hear ya man the other night my sister came out and wanted to ride so she took my viper and then wanted me to ride with her so i had to ride the old 76 panther because the zl500 and the t cat were both in town. after about half an hour i was ready to get back on the viper i could barely stand to ride the panther for long periods of time

Old buck boards
Last year my srx was out of commision for a couple weeks.
I was itching to go for a ride with my buddies, so I thought I'd take my sons 82 ss440. They were laughing there *** off, one on a F7 the other on a renegade 800.
That ss beat the shit out of me. When I got home 75 miles later there wasn't a scratch on it but.......both skis were bent one leaf spring was sacked right out the frame tube that holds the spindles was bent up about 3 inches per side the skid frame was broken . It was destroyed.
That 3 hour ride cost me $2500. I had to buy the kid a new sled.
These new sleds are amazing..............

can you believe that at eagle river the vintage guys were running laps at 95mph. thats only 5-7mph off the late modle champ sleds we have today

Yah, some old sleds could move. Just not quite the suspension we have now. But there are fun. Makes us appreciate what we have now.

LOL i would not wanna be on one of the old ones doing near 100 mph, but the oldies are definately fun to drive, my brothers got an old bravo and i find it 4 times as much fun in the powder and drifts as my SRX is. Nothin like breaking your own trail through pretty much any depth of snow

I had read somewhere that a group of "vintage" riders and vintage sleds
were going to do a anniversary ride of the Minn/StPaul to Winnipeg
500 mile race . I expect you would need to be in stadium cross
condition to do 500 mile on a 72 ,775 skidoo.......
...
I wouldn't trust any of my sleds to make the 500 miles anyway...
..
Another solution was to race out of town for a few miles and pack
them into trailers and stop a few mile short and let them power
themselves into town ..or something like that ...

I love tooling around on my merc trailtwister 440! but I dont want to take it on a long trail ride after the viper, especially with the mono now lol!! the fact it is soooo light is pretty fun though and it will hang the skis when it actually gets hookup! and I LOVE that vmax. I want either on e of those or an old leaf spring exciter 440 next as a clean up and tinker sled. gotta keep busy!

both , shes hot . but so is her temper and after all the $$$$ I spent on the SRX we dont even talk sleds around her . she just cant understand why we (kids and myself ) can spend so much time and $$ on sleds ! she'd rather be at the beach . lol

lol! I just took my wife for a few runs around the property on the old trail twister. she thought it had some pretty good snott for an old little sled. but if I talk sleds too long she gets pretty tired of it
