Is there a better oil than Yamalube? My dealer mechanic said that my powervalves were terrible and I am running a different oil. I need to switch to yamalube or something different.

Ya i run interceptor oil to, i absolutely love it. That Yamalube stuff is garbage for sleds with powervalves, does nothing but cause carbon and headaches. Plus the amsoil smells great LOL

Amsoil Interceptor 2 cycle oil
Just started running interceptor oil in my Viper and love it so far. I have taken pictures of my exhaust valves before cleaning them last month after running 1000 miles on Yamalube 2. I plan to take pictures and compare after 1000 miles on interceptor oil. I will post results next year. -Ed

Mine were gummed up pretty bad at 1200 miles using either oil.

Can get it at the local auto parts store (Carquest) for $8.00 / quart or $31.00 / gallon. I buy from my friend who is a Amsoil dealer for $25.00 / gallon. Only a few dollars more than Yamalube 2 per gallon. Makes it worth it. I also notice more and more places on the trails are stocking it. Price is a bit more expensive, as are ALL the oils they have at these places (convenience) but atleast you can get it if you are in need! -Ed
I'll try and keep it simple for you ... Yamalube is made by citgo,, citgo makes a dozen different packages for the same oil!!!20.00 a gallon for yamalube and 7.00 a gallon for walmart oil... THE EXACT SAME STUFF!!! THE OIL HAS ALMOST ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with powervalve cleanliness!!!! MORESo your JETTING and driving habits!!!!! LOAD AND HUMIDITY also have a MAJOR EFFECT on powervalve cleanliness!! i wrote a DOXEN articles on this and apparently NOT MANY of you read OR COMPREHEND what you read.. A few of you guys HAVE CHANGED to synthetic oils and I COMMEND YOU!!! the others,,,,,well,,,,,
The manufacturers are steering aaway from ashless oils on powervalved motors (tcw-3) and getting with low ash replacements!!! Its something new!!! their finding out that ashless oils do not do the powervalved motors justice... an OIL that SMOKS LIKE HELL is actually WAY BETTER for your powervalves than a "so called" smokeless oil.. I don't have time to write another article,,so,,here it goes,,, RUN SYNTHETIC OILS!!!!! You'll be glad you did~!!!!!!

I completely agree with you nosboy, synthetic oils are the way to go in everything, including sleds. I will run nothing but synthetic oils in all my toys and truck
