Does the cdi BOx for a 2001 and 2002 is the same

no, they are not the same, the 02 has dcs, thats a number mistake on microfiche.

2002 box uses 28 wires coming out of box, 2001 uses 23 wires out of box.

I am gonna tell you straight up fortress, you have been playing ring around the rosie with cdi questions and handwarmer stuff for your sled for over a month now, I have tried to help you but you always have the answer as to "why it doesnt work". I dont sugar coat stuff but tell you the way it is. You tried another cdi already and same thing as before last 2 weeks, then you had it for sale. Why dont you go out and take the wiring harness OUT of the sled and fix the problem, if it wont run and hand warmers are not warm you have a chaffed harness somewhere. Everyone with a srx makes a big deal out of nothing, the wiring harness's rub thru ALL the time. I know you said you checked it, so did 10 other people with srx's and electrical problems and then they find the wires rubbed thru by the cdi box, or ontop of the steering hoop, or under the engine. Thats where your problem is!! the cdi box's dont go bad very often on the 2000-02 srx, I know I would be lucky to have changed a couple over the years now, the 98-99 box had the problems with the power valave circuit not working but still had spark. What do you think your chances are of having 2 cdi boxs do the same exact thing......I would say your problem doesnt lye in the cdi box, its in the wiring harness!!!! Do what you will, I have typed endless responses trying to help you. You have already torn the engine down, chnaged cdi boxs, the problem is the harness somewhere.!

why don't you read my post and listen to what i say??? if you would read, you would know that the engine was removed, opened, and that DAMN WIRE harness have been checked, all the wire have been checked, (from the handwarmer to the cdi box etc etc, continuity test, name it)

Resistance on the stator have been checked. Voltage and current on my handwarmer have been checked, continuity have been checked ?? SO??? what's your problem?? I want to know about the cdi cuz i would send it to someone with a 2002 srx to try it! so, stop botter me and read what i said

who know if the guy who did sell me this CDi box, did sell me something who actually work?!! we don't know, just suppose..

2002 SRX 700 CDI box part number 8DN-85540-30-00

2001 SRX 700 CDI box part number 8DN-85540-20-00

2000 SRX 700 CDI box part number 8DN-85540-10-00

1999 SRX 700 CDI box part number 8DN-85540-00-00

1998 SRX 700 CDI box part number 8DN-85540-00-00

All Yamaha parts always start out with 3 digit sled identification number (8DN, 8EK, etc) then the actual part number (85540 in the above parts) and then a two digit number and 00 is always first, if there is a change then it goes to 10, another change 20, etc etc.

There is probaly a wire that you overlooked I had one that was worn through but the tape wasn't worn.
