that beldt isn't causing your vibration and old beldt will start to frey.Or if you cluthed impropely and you getting alot of heat in your slutches beldts will wear fast.

The only way beldt can cause vibrations is if you have a burn spot on it or you have some cogs gone that it will vibrate.

well the belt fray had like a ball on it, changed over to my other belt and it was smoother but that belt also has frays, I think the cord that was all bunched up like a ball was causing the vibration..or maybe not but it seemed that way.

EXCESSIVE HEAT is usually the cause, or 10,000 miles.

What would cause the belt to get burn spots like this?? I've had this happen to my last 2 belts.........only a couple hundred miles on each.
Starts causing a vibration, put on a new belt...no vibration.
Is my belt too tight?? Sled only has 1K miles on it.

Those burn spots or hour glassing of the belt is caused by excessive load and restricting the movement of the sled, usually this is from trying to start off with the track frozen to the ground on a cold morning,or loading it on a trailer, the skis dont slide easily and the added incline of loading ramp you can smellbelt is a good indicator of hourglassing the belt(burn spots), you feel a vibration because the sheaves apply even pressure when going slowly and the belt changes widths as it rotates with the burn spots.
