i just put the 98 back together and i dont see where the screen door springs that hold the stock pipes in place go.

If you are talking about the real long spring. It wraps around the stock silencer to hold it down. The only other spring is the one that holds down the pipes under #3 pipe I believe. It fastens to the frame.

The real long spring (little over a foot without tension) hooks up on the bottom here in the first pic and hooks up on the top on the cross bar that is over the pull start.
The other spring that hooks up to the 3rd pipe is about 6" without tension and that one hooks up on the belly pan braces in the area that I circled. 2nd Pic
Lastly, the third long spring is about 6"-8" long without tension and the hooks up on the front portion of that same bar that goes over the pull start and wrap around all the pipes and holds them together grabbing on the outermost pipe.
