Does anybody know if a 97mm gears a will fit on my srx6?
yes they will fit. 98-99 srx were 15 wide and the mm are standard 13 wide. your mm gears will go right in there

But I would perfer to run 15wide gears right?
To make it easier to understand, the 98/99 srx's came with 15 wide chain and gear sets, all other yamaha sleds at the time had std 13 wide chain and gear sets. In 2000, yamaha decided to go to a 13 wide hyvo set up for the srx and later the viper, the hyvo is a strong chain, and silent running, and it was lighter then the old 15wide and saved rotating weight. You can use any of the above in your sled without problems, the only thing you have to do is use them as a set, you cant interchange the chains and sprockets to differnt ones or they will eat themselves right up into junk.
