Have the 1.25 ripsaw on the viper with stock drivers and thinking about trying the screws instread of studs as a little insurance on ice/corners.
Would I be facing the same issues as running studs as far as clearance to heat ex. and tunnel?
Haven/t seen the screws up close to see length over all when installed.
Anyone try this set up?

dont' think the screws would work with the ripsaw. don't think there is wide enough rubber to screw into.

Don't think about it. Had 500 or so in my RX-1 and they did next to nothing. THey would be good for my dad's 500 which barely has enough power to spin the track. If you really want to try some, I'll sell you what I took out for dirt cheap. BTY I'm an aggressive rider, if you just want to putz through the trails, you'd have better luck.

You you might be best off doing is selling your Ripsaw and getting the most you can out of it if it is in good shape. Then you can get yourself a brand new Ice Ripper. It sounds like the perfect track for your application.

Any idea what a used ripsaw in good condition is worth?I know a guy who wants mine when I stretch my skid out to 136.Matt, I may be talking to you about a 136 track next fall, I am thinking of trying 6 pitch 136 instead of the ripsaw. Any general idea how much?

depending on condition, right around 200 for an average. +/- $50 depending on shape and miles.

snoway..Why not studs?
yea. I didn't change to the smaller drivers so there would be damage from what I'v heard.

Last year I bought the 04 viper S with 1.25 Ripsaw and wanted to stud it. My local dealer said Yeap, no problem but I got some advice otherwise, including from 2 different Yamaha dealers.
After much tado and research I studded mine 1.35 Woodys, did not change the front driver, added SRX front exchanger protectors and believe it or not Hockey stichs for tunnel protectors. I have yet to see any problem whatsoever.
Should have listened to my local dealer to start with!

Viper s has the 8 tooth drivers all other vipers have the 9 tooth, stock.

my S came with 9 tooth drivers.
What about the rear exchanger? Any protection?
I would like to stud my "s" but have not because of the same concerns that you had.

you are going to have to put rear protectors on as well.
