shimming ski to eliminate darting mod?

I did the mod on my SXR some time ago.Now doing it on my SRX.I put a 1/4" shim under the rubber at the rear of it.When you drop the sled down...ski's on floor,it looks fine.When you lift whole front end off the floor the ski does sit back a good angle.Does this seem ok to you guys.

Of course I phoned up 2 dealers and no one carries ski bolt in stock...so stupid.Anyways one told me you take the collar off and save it and just order a bolt and nut.I told him it wont slide off.He said it is probably seized on.Take some heat and try to move it.Well to my surprise that was the ticket.Got the collar and washer off.Just remembered I had an extra bolt from the ski mounting plate with the USI ski's for my SXR.Used only one of them and used a Yamaha one.It is a perfect fit inside the collar.I am happy now that this is all done.Greased collar inside and out before installing also.I got to get some of that no sieze stuff one day.
Anywho...with sled weight on the ski's,they slightly whip back and ride more on the rear part of the carbide,just like my SXR.This is final.

I did the same thing with my Viper and although I only had one small run before the modification, there is no darting anymore. It handles great. I must thanks TY for such a great tip. A free fix is always the best!

ditto ,contact cemented a 3/16" piece of hyfax to the rear of mine and also shimmed the plastic bushings on the outer radius rods and this helped

BLUE!! You wimp today was a day for riding not wrenching!!!

Did 240 Km today. Saw the Speedo hit 165 Km/hr and then I didn't have the guts to look down again. Was going so fast that my Cobra windshield folded down!!!!!

Truthfully, it's kind of fun to wrench on the sleds!!

I took the beast out for a 100 km run,it was awesome man.0-100 in seconds.Actually it scares me,and there was lots of throttle left.The suspension is actually transfering.When pinning it from dead stop,she will jump up at least 3 times,I do loose my steering and is hard to stay straight.Will loosen limiter straps or actually should tighten them,but there is 32 mm measurement on them already.May need adjustable transfer rods.But the torque is awesome man.Cuts the corners pretty good to
