Has any one cut thier windy down to make a low or med style windy? I have heard of some people doing that and would like to know what to use to cut it with. I am going to try to cut and paint my stock windy to use for the rest of this year since I really don't want to buy an after market windy and another 07 trail permit. I'll buy it next year. Any info would be appreciated. -Ed

I cut mine using a large pair of combination snips, after removing the trim, and painted with model paint meant for RC car bodies. Re-installed trim, worked great.

I used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade.I used a paint adhesion promotor and then black paint on the inside of the windy. Still looks good

ditto, done a few and this was the easiest and fastest way.

Thanks for the replies, and the picture (Sno-Xr). If anyone else has pictures of a cut down windy or after market windy please post, I'm looking for ideas to cut mine. -Ed

Stock windshield cut, so the handguards clear. Also painted on both sides with Rust-Oleum Flat black. Was originally painted with red/white/blue flames on the inside. Flames didn't look good once I finished the hood, so I went with all black. Also used a jigsaw and dremel.
