Hey guys newbie here. Anyway bought a 2000 SRX and I can get a good holeshot on some sleds, but I am getting passed slightly on top by an 06 Powertek 800 rev and 2 other 800 revs?? I thought I would be a little faster? Anyway, what is a good clutch set-up for 1/4 mile drag races? It just seems a bit boggy in the mid and looses steam up top. I will have to check and see what is in it now.

First thing I would suggest is clean and synch your power valves, clean carbs, check jetting and clutching specs and report back. If you tell the clutching guru's on here what you're running now, they may be able to give you a setup using parts that you already have.

BTW, Welcome to TY. :wel:

What,s your rpm at wide open throttle from dead stop to top end?

it was reving to 8100 with old belt, now barely makes 8000 with brand new belt? I was told from previous owner that it has a roller clutch, I could see it has a red secondary spring and a bender racing helix. I do know that it needs to be to 8400 at wot.

You gotta lighten up the primary weights. If you could tell me how the primary is loaded with rivets it would be an easy change. Does sled go right to 8000 rpm immediately & stick?

yes it does, it hit hards good low end, but it gets beat on top buy twin 800's. What weights should I try? Should I just put a whole new set-up in like you and Mrviper had talked about with the 8dn-20 weights? I am looking for a little less low end and more mid and top.
