Find that with the pics I really grab good and the front end is up in the air when I punch it,actually to much.I loose steering on a launch and wander to the side.My limiters are at 32mm end of thread to back of first nut when tightened. Front shock preload is at 4",which I think is to much.Rear spring preload is at around 3.5".Front end shocks at at approx. 3.25" preload.Think I should loosen limiters and center shock for sure, but need a reference to go by.FRA is in the middle.I am 165 lbs weight myself. What has worked for some of you with pics on the track?THANKS

So if any one of you SRX owners could tell me how you set up your suspension, from front end to back,it will be a great help to me.I have 144 picks installed on my stock track.FRA is at softest setting.I weigh approx 165 lbs.Right now my front ski shocks, while lifted off the floor, have the adjuster nuts tightened just to where the spring doesn't move up or down(this is probably 0 pre-load.)Limiters at 1.5 inches now.Center spring 0 pre-load.What should back spring be set up at.I will be playing with the suspension tomorrow.

with all the new parts in suspension...w-arm,mounting brackets, new bushings, shimmed shock and transfer rod bushings,4 extra grease fitting in mounting brakets and transfer rod mount.
What is a good starting point to set up the SRX's rear suspension now.Limiter straps...????????? Center shock...???????rear shock....??????
Will get the transfer rods gap to be 50/50 when I am on the sled.Got 144 picks on the stock track.Don't want to be raising front ski's 2 feet of the snow when launching.Want good transfer when set up.Some tips please would be very helpfull.

forgot to mention,I also installed a new set of Graphite Hyfax and will be installing rail mounted ice sratchersw.Just got to figure where to mount them exactly

vipr rear shocks or stock srx?

i got lucky when i installed viper into my srx. did not change spring preload at all, extended the transfer rods, raised the front 1" to compensate. and set the FRA to softest setting.
I adjusted teh limiter strap untill I was just lifting a ski in a hard acelleration out of a turn. only a few turns on the nut makes quite a difference

if the sled wanders with the skis in the air. then adjust out the limiter strap on the side it pulls toward.

sorry I don't have preload dimensions. If i think to look at threads on limiter strap. I will post

ramb

I am 160 lbs now, lost more weight.Man that SRX will fly man.On a serious note. How or what is the best suspension set up I should go with on my SRX.Just put on adjustable transfer rods tonight...so that will improve things.Got my limiter straps at 30mm,so what should the center shock be set up for pre-load.FRA is softest position.Question? With the back end of the sled elevated from the rafters and the 30mm limiter ajustment, the straps are loose and you can wiggle them.Do I adjust the center shock pre-load until the straps are snug? The pre-load of the rear shock is 12.5" spring end to end.Do I need more pre-load or what?

Bawhahahaha...LOL ;)!

Haven't ridden mine except on the test run before i bought it,she's still
in the garage getting some TLC and routing maintenance skids coming out
this week to totally go through every thing, carbs and valves are clean
as new and all adjusted up she sounds like a monster wanting to kill..LOL

i'll probably set mine up close to stock as i'm not going to be racing it i want
a stock sled,

got lots to do on her yet clean clutches grease front end check for worn
bush, etc. :)

daman....youhoo...where are you :wel: :wel: :wel:
Dunno......i'm ok with stock settings or close to it, i don't mess with the
skid much, they ride good enough for me..LOL , sorry :)

pull up the limiter straps in a couple mm increments until you get it where it doesn't lift much ski anymore. Run the center shock at 5mm more preload than 0 with no weight on it. Set front ski shocks at stock

Got the suspension set up according to Yamaha's service maual.Limiters set at 32mm. Center shock at standard position and rear shock at standard position.FRA is at the sofest setting.Got my transfer rods at 50/50 and that is a huge difference when I launch now.Ski's come up a bit, maybe 4 to 6 inches compared to 12 to 20 inches before.Couldn't control sled before when steering was in the air.Did a few good fast runs and hit some drifting on the trail.Got air borne pretty good at one point at 10 to 11 o'clock position,12 being a straight vertical.Sled really landed nicely and the suspension worked really well.Don't really get much of a bottoming out effect at all. ;)! :bling:
