Hey Folks, I'm from Northeastern PA, and, as you can guess, we ain't got snow :o|

Looking to take a trip up north (but not too far) for maybe a weekend of riding with some friends. Just looking for maybe a max of 3-4hr drive from the Scranton, PA area into Southern NY. Anyone have any good trails or tips for us?

Basically what we're looking to do is leave on a friday, ride friday night, ride saturday and then head home sunday.

the only real rideable snow that im aware of is tugg hill but on a weekend with no snow in other areas its gonna be pack. corners are really icy so keep right at all times, to many guys thinking they are Blair Morgan out there riding doing 90 around the corners and blind spots, lots of accidents be carefull

2.5 -3 hrs. north on 81 from scranton, pull up mapquest...look for (1)pulaski and (2)sandy creek exits....east of these two exits there are numerous drops to do rides from....boylston is my favorite when snow is low, travel north and east.....good luck....may be going that way saturday....CP

Thanks for the info. Are there any places within 2-3hrs of Northeast PA (Scranton) that offer a sled-n-stay package for overnight trips? Or any recommendations for hotels/motels with trails nearby? Also, we are from PA and our sleds are not registered here or in NY. They are legit, however, we don't need that stuff here where we ride. Do you think we'd be in trouble?

i dont know of any places to stay but to ride in ny you must have it registered in ny and have insurance also

I sure wouldn`t recommend coming to upstate ny right now. Oswego county and the surrounding areas are under a state of emergency due to the snow. 80 inches of snow since sunday night and man it`s a mess. And you definately want to be sure your sleds are all legal in ny or you WILL get tickets. They like to write tickets for unregistered or uninsured sleds here.
