Well i finally got a chance to open up my viper this weekend . On a pond with marginal conditions i would say (some slick spots ) but mostly hard pack . i got 116 on the dreameter but dont know how acurate that is . my buddy was running his new F7 also ,at about 105 he pulled up next to me and i could hear he was just burping it to keep the speed . I pinned it and topped out at 116mph . he let off at 112 he said . he only has about 15 miles on his sled so he didnt want to run it too hard . man that cat is gotta be crazy fast .He said the sled is running rich right now and the dealer said after 300 miles they would set it leaner , and hes got some mixed gas in the tank . smoking like crazy but still wicked fast . dont get me wrong I love my Viper but that cat has it all over the yamaha . I need pipes definitly !

The speedo is probably out 10 mph. I ran my stock 04 Viper S on GPS, the speedo said 105mph and GPS said 95.6. That was in 1/4 mile. I have had it to 117mph on the speedo, so really top end is only about 107mph. I'm looking for pipes too.

I have had my viper over 120 on the speedo. Last time out I had my GPS mounted and got 89MPH top speed for the day. I saw 103 on the speedo more than once.
GPS'd my 03 at 107 mph this weekend on the lake, speedo read 118.

the fastest i have seen on my viper dreameter was 127mph with the single pipe under ideal conditions. my buddies F7 and Dragon all read much less. after a day of riding, my odometer read 10 % more miles then the AC and Polaris sleds. so my gas mileage isn't a good as i thought!

Yeah I was thinking the speedo was a ways off , i had a 700 VMAX a few years back that felt alot faster and read the same . Anyone happen to know the top speed of them F7 cats , just would like to know if ill be able to keep up even with pipes ?

Saw 113 on my ER...noticed my valves where way off so I corrected that for this years ride...hoping to get up to some of the numbers above...basically I just wanna clear true 100mph...I'm fine with that...

I thought that (like most twins) the firecat was quick and not fast. meaning it would get up to speed in a hurry but not have really long legs. you SHOULD be able to tak ehim on top I would think, but he will launch hard and get the jump

I saw a little bit of rubbing going on mine as well and with the cold temps the ice and really builds up in the tunnel. I think the 1.175 inch studs help out alot in that their is no track spin unlike the stock yoko but the 1.175 might also effect our top speed. Might go with shorter studs next time.Concept Carbon said:ive only seen 176km aound 108mph on speedo on a strait trail with 1" 9830 144 1.175 studs and track rubbing . and some clutching. My stock yoko with 96 one ich studs pulled 122 mph on near ice condition on the speedo and on normal runs would average 114 mph. So far with the new track and studs ive only seen about 108 as well.

yes the cat is a leftover , Its an 06 F7 , the Tony Stewart edition . I was thinking my Viper would have it over the cat on takeoff for at least a few hundred feet , hes running a 1inch hacksaw with no studs and ive got the 1.25 ripsaw not studded also . I do have a bender clutch kit in mine that seems to deliver the power a lot harder in the low end .
