Ok the other night my oil light came on and has stayed on ever since. Oil reservoir is full! Then when i started the sled i had no lights at all , headlight,guages,tailight,etc. After a minute everything came on. Now my temp. light has come on full time too. Anybody have any ideas whats going on?
oiltank sensors go bad on 2000 srx all the time, there was a yamaha service bulletin on those. As for the other problems first thing to do is loosen up the left side(sitting on sled) dash , the part with the vents above footwells, you will see a blue and a white relay, these are the headlight and load control relay, they have moisture in them and you need to remove them from sled and place them on a heater register in your house for a good day or so, this is the reason the lights took so long to come on, see if this helps then we can address the coolant temp light. Does the temp light still blink 3 times when you first start the sled?

no it doesnt blink when i start it up anymore...just on all the time.
ok, not good, but lets dry out the relays and go from there first.

ok Mrviper...got the relays in drying today and will put em back in tomorrow. Hopefully i can tell you then that my problems are solved.

Well i put the relays back in today and on 1st start up the temp light was still on solid and did not blink 3 times. I let it run for a couple minutes and shut it off. When i restarted the light flashed 3 times and went out. I guess i`ll have to ride it and see what it`s gonna do for now. Thanks for your advice viper
