VHT flame proof header paint
This is the stuff you want to use, VHT Flame proof header paint better picture of can make sure you get the exact can as in the pic, it's the one thats good for up to 2000*F. Most parts stores I have found have a dupli-color brand paint that has the same part # (sp-102) but it's only good for 1200-1500*F. DO NOT use this it WILL burn off quickly. I used the VHT brand and it has held up good so far. I ended up having to order a can from Caswell inc. (www.caswellplating.com). The most inportant part is the "cureing" process so they say, I just put them on and heated them slowly (idled for a few minutes, let cool, ran on stand for a few minutes and then let cool, ran around the yard for a few minutes and let cool, etc...) On the can it says you can coat the inside of the headers for a heat barrier and it will not burn off, thats hard to believe. Must be some good chit! -Ed
