Does any body know for sure what the helix angles are on a bender 9860? I just called bender and they said they don't give out that info. I did a search and came up with 51/45 but I want to make sure. My wrap was set at 1-9=10. The guy on the phone told me to wrap it to 2-6=8. What should I do?
My spring is black with a green spring. Is this a so called green spring? Sorry about the dumb questions this is all new to me.

6 on the helix and 2 in the clutch is all you should need for that, yes you have the green spring.

Will this helix slow me down on the top end? Will having the wrap set to tight slow me down?

yes, what kind of riding do you do 90 percent of the time? you dont set it up for the occasional 10 percent, so if your a wide open nothing but lake racer runner, youd want a loose secondary twist, if your a tight woods trail rider and want back shift youll want more secondary spring tension for improved backshifting.

Well I would say that I am somewhere between so I will leave it at 80 for now and see what it is like. What kind of speeds are we talking about?
