When I pinned it on the lake yesterday, I noticed a burnt rubber smell towards the top end. Is the belt slipping in the secondary or the primary?
what is a possible solution - belt has about 500 miles on it. clutching is stock.

Do you have a frozen bearing in your suspension, idler wheel rubbing on track?

Nope - I had the suspension out on Saturday - Somewhere from pinning it to top end it's slipping, if you eased into top speed you didn't get the smell.

if its frozen from ice bring the sled inside where it's warm or wait for june. if they are siezed lubricate ad try to free up or replace the bearings. there are circlips which hold the bearing in the wheel.

After you do a long pull stop the engine and feel to see if the primary or secondary clutches are hot and/or have rubber deposited on the sheaves, then you will know if the belt is slipping.
