I have a few messed up threads in the end of my crankshaft. I'm working on an '89 Exciter. Does anyone know what size exactly is the bolt so I can find the right size of tap to fix the threads? Are the clutch bolts on most Yamahas the same diameter? According to the part numbers it takes the same bolt as an '87-'90 Exiter and '84-'91 Phazer.

I found out my answer this morning. It takes a 1/2" x 20. Odd seeing a standard thread size in a metric motor.
