It's a 1999 vmax 600 triple, 3259 miles, average condition for it's age, starts easily, runs good and very smooth..plenty of power for what it is, seat is clean, no rips or seams seperated, paint is good..normal dings and scratches, no body damage, track is fair..may have one or two studs missing, extra belt, factory yamaha cover, extra windshield-has a tall aftermarket one on it now, and also have the factory one- ..2 inch riser to give it a little friendlier ride while standing, plug in for electric shield, awesome hand and thumb warmers ... . so hot you have to leave them on the minimum setting..this sled was for my wife and then I just bought a new Switchback so it's gotta go .. .asking 1900.00

that's a good deal. Bullet proof sled. My wife has the same and it has provided 5500 trouble free miles. Great on gas and if you want to go the Mod route there is plenty of room for turn key improvements.
I was looking at this one or the one that is in the classifieds on this site. The one on this site is closer but has more miles on it. So thats my problem here..

how far are you willing to travel? http://www.auto-rv.com/search/search_results.aspx?mode=catsearch&area=browse&cat=Snowmobiles
there are quite a few cheap yamaha's because of the low snow in indiana. a viper for $2,250 is a steal!!!

i don't know anything about the sled, but i know there are some cheap sleds in there. theres the 98' srx just a half hour from my house for $2000 with 1800 miles which i think is cheap.
Get me that number!!!

that would be a fantastic trail sled. with the lower suspension it will handle like it is on rails and still be decently comfortable until you get in big whooped out trails. I had a 97 600. same sled but the 99 had the tripple (MUCH better motor) and waaaay better gauges. I actually kinda want one just for the nice smooth trails. a good wednesday driver to get all modded up and leave low slung

Ok well, I might hold out for a 700. Just dont know if I want a non pv or a powervalve motor. My plan is to long travel it front and rear, drop brackets from CB, and maybe 136" conversion it. So whatever you guys think I should do, wait and get a SRX or get a 700 SXR??

or a viper. great trail sled, god mileage, and it already is longtraveled. good copromise between an srx and an sxr

Did not know they were long traveled already. What amount of travel do they have??

viper and sxr already have 11.5" in the rear. I think 8 or 9" in the front. although you will find your xt is a lot softer settings and will ride smoother than all of the above. too soft for some (bottom all the time) or will be perfect. for my dad it was perfect. he weighs like 140 and is 5'4" or so. so your xt was his IDEAL sled. he loved it. never likes any of the new ones as much lol!

99 sx models had 7" front and 8" rear. I upgraded mine using the viper shocks.

Ok so if I upgraded then I would have the same amout of travel as the Vipers correct? I have been looking at Vipers but I may look for a SRX and put the Viper shocks in and then go from there. Now I just have to sell my sled and find myself a good SRX or even a 700 SXR

All four viper shocks will mount directly to the SX model (take off front shock mounts). As far as the SRX, you'll have to manufacture or buy brackets to enable the front shocks to mount properly.
You'll have to also buy oem or make longer limiter straps for the SX. I purchased a rubber belt close to the same thickness locally and cut to length and width. Cost was much less than oem straps.
Oem transfer rods in the SX model have white plastic spacers. Remove the large one and replace with the same thickness as the top spacer. They can be found at Lowe's home improvement for something like 9 cents each. Just redrill the centers to fit rod.
Now enjoy the long travel suspension.
