i have an 89 exciter 570EN with the electric start. I can pull start it fine in like 1 pull and it starts right up. but for some reason i can't get the electric start to work. First i thought it was the battery, so i swapped the battery charged it up. and still nothing. so i thought it wasn't charged enough. so i tried jump starting it with a jump pack and still nothing. no noise or anything. no clicking. so would it be a bad wire to the starter motor/battery? or the starter just crap out?

I would try checking all the connections. A weak battery would make some noise when cranked, i.e. clicking. If all connections seem okay, try a jumper wire from the battery to the ignition coil connection. Try grounding the starter with another wire to make sure you have a good ground. If nothing else, your starter is probably shot. Hope this helps.

1st off find the starter solenoid. on it jump the 2 large terminals with a heavy peice of wire. if the motor turns over like this then it is most likely that solenoid or no power is going to the small terminal from the key/starter button.
if the starter doesnt turn the motor over, pull the starter and bench test it. it will most likely be finished if it doesnt turn. if it works on the bench, then you have a bad cable someplace on the sled.
good luck to you.

There is likely a fuse in the circuit. Look near the battery.
