I think if your going to spend 250 you may as well spend 410-425 on a boss flat and sell your stock seat if it's in good shape you could get 125.00 to 150.00

I like the stock seat, I had a high rise wide top last year - too tall and too hard. They say 3" higher than staock, but it's more like 6" taller than stock - I go on long late rides and need some wind protection ..... so I don't think a boss is for me - that and I don't want to wait a year to get the mid height one.

correct me guys?
flat top about the height of the back of a stock seat all the way to the tank
high rise about the height of the gas tank cap all the way

snakebit you are correct the high rise is too tall unless you adda 4"pivot riser.

I also put on a 2inch riser to bring the handlebars to a more comfortable height , and because the handguards i added hit the windshield when turned real sharp .I didnt go any further than 2 inches because i think I may have needed cable extentions to go higher .

I said why waste the $$. personally, I wouldnt want the seat any higher anyways, but I am short and ride on trails, so my opinion would differ a lot form other guys

Your riser looks good. Tell us what you did: materials, wood, covering, fasteners, etc? thanks

Anyone with an SRX install one of these seat risers or perhaps make your own?I need something to take some strain off the knees and am thinking of taking mine to a local shop and seeing if I can get a piece of foam put in to bring it up a couple of inches.I don't know how a seat riser would work with the SRX seat style.

I never had a problem with sliding forward it felt great,It only took about 2 hours to make and about $25 to $35 in materials,If you find that you dont like it take it off and it only cost you $25 as compared to over $200.
