My thumb warmer is so hot that it melted my glove. I heard there is resistor in there anyone no what the value is. I am an electrician and have access to almost any value of resistor. hand warmers work fine just the thumb is an issue :dunno: :dunno:

Is this something new your experiencing with your sled,by that I mean has it always done this or have both the thumb and grips been fairly equal in temps?I think you will find that is just the nature of the beast,my 98 SRX does the same thing to the piont I put a toggle switch inline with the thumb warmer to shut it off.
If this is new then there is a regulator that may be bad causing the extra amps to be sent through the circut.
What is the sled?

My 97' SX thumb warmer is one hot mama.

I cut the thumb off an old pair of gloves and made a little
thumb dickie I wear inside my glove to protect against the excessive heat.
It makes a nice conversation piece and the chicks seem to dig it.

2000 mmax

I have only recently puchased the 2000 but my 99 mmax doesn't have the same problem I may just diconnect the thumb warmer all together. They should change temp with the hand warmers but I can have them dialled right down and my thumb is still on fire. thanx for the imput guys
