Hyvo/Nonhyvo

difference is the angle on the tooth. and on the chain it's the angle on the gear side of the chain that meets the teeth. therefore you must use the hyvo chain with the hyvo gears or the chain will not mesh with the gear teeth properly.
 
Difference

HYVO are more efficient and the chain does not try to "climb" the gears under load. HYVO gears and chain are rounded and the non hyvo type are more pointed.
