plastic supplier in Mn
The best place to get teflon that is near you is Plastics International (formerly Minnesota Plastics).
http://www.plasticsintl.com/
They will be able to get you what you want. But, like you said the material is not gonig to be cheap. I would estimate that you are gonig to have to spend about $200 to get the materials you will need to make your own not to mention machineing costs.

Royal out here offers Graphite slides...they claim "slippery" over stock brands..unsure
if this is along the same lines as Teflon...but it might be closer to what you what and save the trouble of making them...try this link..if it doesnt' work..punch Royal Distributing in your Yahoo or google go undor 2007 snowmobile...good luck

Hmmm..I just tried the link...scroll down to "S" for slides...take it from there.

just use the grafite sildes
Teflon ROD or bar stock is available,,but,, the cost is around 25.00 a foot.. Considering you need about 10 feet to do TWO slides, It would cost you around $250.00 for the slides PROVIDING you could have someone make them for you in a machine shop!!! I would probably charge you 150.00 in LABOR,, so,,, it would cost you around $400.00 for a set of slides... Considering that TEFLON is a softer compound than the GRAPHITE slides (or even the STOCK slides available from yamaha) a SET of teflon slides would last you probably a HUNDRED miles or so PROVIDING you don't ride through any SNIRT!!!! So, in closing,, BAD IDEA!!!!

They are already made, they are called hyperfax, they run about $170 a pair, they are graphite inpregnated slides with teflon inserts in them. You can get them thru hi-perf. engineering, dennis kirk, etc.
I've heard of dripping oil and prestone on the slides and clips!!! Some people disqualify if you race in a sanctioned race!!!! They can tell by the color if you use teflon!!! But i guess the hiperfax is already black looking, so it may not raise an eyebrow!!! Thanks for the info don!!!
