So this is what I am wondering.
Ihave 38 mm round slide mikuni carbs with powerjets, and std main jet size is 290. Those cabs are junk so I have use other pair without powerjets how much larger main jet I must use to get same fuel flow when running flat out.
thanks

I have a 570 with the VM 38mm carbs and they have a Yamaha power jet, well they did have, I pluged the hose to them with a bearing and went riding. I just moved and rejeted mine and found that Yamaha is a bit off on the jetting in the books. Yamaha says my mains should be 250 for 6000 to 10000 feet, Mikuni says 280.5 is good from 6000 to 8000. so that is were I am, 280, and it runs great. I did try Yamahas idea of the 250 but had to run with the choke on.
