I was told that somewhere on TY...."Monker" i think his name is....has a viper with a f-cat 128" skid...I cant find him, maybe someone knows of this or has pictures or knows of this "Monker" guy ?? Also i am wondering for all of you who have vipers with the 136" suspension how you like it and what it does to performance. I am selling my firecat 700 because of reliability issues. I love the sled when its not falling apart...but in the last year i'v had sooo many issues with it that i'm dumping it for somethin a little bit more reliable. I was thinking a viper with an upgraded suspension.....was thinking of maybe a f-cat skid in it or maybe just the 136" upgrade or maybe even a crossfire skid. My main concern is is a viper gonna feel like an absolute turd compared to my f-cat ?? I know its not as light and not as much power.....I know i'm gonna lose some performance for some reliability and thats OK. I was thinking of jetting it and clutching it. How would this do for performance gains ? And then obviously the new skid with a 1 3/8" or 1 1/2" track with studs. WHats your opinions ?

I think monker's was a sx with a firecat skid. But I would guess the mounting locations would be the same for the viper.
As far as performance, a little bit of clutching a jetting will surprise you. The vipers throttle response and smoothness is flat out awsome.
Studding a tall lug track in a Viper is a little trickey, you have to change to 8 tooth drivers. Many have done it without re-gearing and like it, some have re-geared.
Straight line moguls will be the only place the viper(w/cat skid) suffers compared to the Fcat. But 90% of your trail riding I guarentee you'll be faster with the Viper. The front end just doesnt handle bumps like the cat's front.

monker is always on on the 4stroke side.Yes he did have an sx 700 with a firecat skid.

Because...
1.)Like the looks of the viper better.(I think they look more up to date with the headlights and such
2.)The regular viper is more then 50lbs lighter then the SRX.

thats why i wanan go with the viper. Like i said, i realize i will not quite have a sled thats as light and quick as my f7. Thats OK....but i just want at least my sled to be ya know...in somewhat of the same ballpark as far as quickness goes. I know if i go to a 136 i will loose some speed but i think the pros outway the cons on offtrail and stuff. I wont have to worry about my sled falling apart or making new noises all the time. hahaha
