No taillight or brake light - 98 600 SX

Since I put my engine back in after a complete overhaul I have no tail light or brake light. This morning I checked and I don't have any power going back to the plug under the seat. I checked and all my harnesses are plugged in that I had to unplug to get the engine out. Can anyone help where to check next to locate the problem. Thanks

check the blue wire at the handle bar that goes to the brake switch

I checked for continuity on the blue wire and found I had none. So I pulled the seat and the plug under the seat had come out. Why? I don't know but I wrapped it in electrical tape after replugging in. After installing seat I checked again for continuity and had it. Should be good for this weekend.
