This track is one inch finger style track, it doesn;t have open windows all the way around. Was told you need to clip the track ABOVE the windows..how much are they talking here?I clipped every lug down to about 3/4 inch or less above and below all windows and every lug. I can reach up inside the tunnel and push up on the track and feel it hit the tunnel protectors, and I can smell burning rubber when on a stand..I have the track tention tight and can still reach up inside and push up and hit the guards, Could this problem be a problem with suspension set up?I'd really like to hear any opinions or answers..thanks

well I have cut quite a bit off, had a buddy that works at a snowmobile shop come over and look at it tonight...asked about the chain case and how thats all set up..possibly have a gear in wrong?but I put a level and it said it was all level..took the sled out tonight after replacing the motor mount/belt/idler wheels and still right off the bat it has a vibration in the powder or anywheres for that fact..he came over and moved th secondary around and said it was fine, i'm thinkin its something in the chain case but not sure...
Are the clutches straight and set? After you run it are the clutches hot? If so, then somthing is not right. Is this the stock 03 stock?

I just had the clutch alignment tool on the sled today, everything was fine after the motor mount. I got this track from scott (betheviper) it was off an 03 I believe he said..

would cutting the track make it out of balance?

i wouldn't think so. is your track studded? cause mine is and it vibrates like hell on pavement... just a thought.

Not sure on the out of balance part. I have the 03 stock track on my viper with 1.075 studs 144 center and I have no problems. I never had to cut anything? Why is it hitting the tunnel and where?

yeah I was told to cut the lugs over the windows becuase it will rub on the 03 track..so I cut 1/8 and it was still rubbing so I cut alot moreoff and its still rubbing..not even sure if its the track...its very frustrating and I dont really want to take it tot he dealer to get it fixed..its ruubbing right under the tank...I canreach up and push up on the track and it touchs the protectors...its studded on the inside also
