From 121"/1.24" Fullblock to 136"/1.5" Ripsaw. Opinions?

As the title says, I'am going to change from 121"/1.24" fullblock to 136"/1.5" Ripsaw on my SXR 700.

Just want to hear your opinions on the ripsaw. how does it work in deep snow? On the track? Just write down what you think about the ripsaw.

Its great on packed snow, but so-so in loose snow or powder.It does seem to have excellent side bite for track without studs, thats one of the first things I noticed when I rode it.If you go to 1.5 and 136 length that may change things considerably with the ripsaw.I'm thinking of extending mine out to 136 and am contemplating which track to run, that what I know about the ripsaw and good luck with your project.

im running a 136 1 1/4 ripsaw and love it. much better in powder than 121 ripsaw.

can you run 1.5 track on a stock SRX without stud protectors? or do i have to buy different drivers?

I extended mine to 136" last year and put a 1.5" ripsaw on it. I love the track and extension on the sled. I make trail riding a lot better and the 1.5" is great in powder, have not to try it in deep powder but in about 8" - 10" of snow I was keeping up with a 800 Summit.

If the tunnel on the srx is the same as the sxr yes you will have the heat exhcangers off to run a 1.50" track.

jds2500: How is your clutch setup and gearing with that track?

This is how my sled looks right now (Turk's setup).

stock weights w/4.5g rivet in 1st hole and 3.1g in tip, 2-3 engagement shims, stock springs, 14.5 mm rollers, 2 layers removed from head gasket and 22/40 gearing. Jetting: 142.5 mains.Also got a TEAM roller seconday.

Everything else: stock.

my friend just put a 1 1/4 ripsaw track on his Polaris ultra. on packed snow that thing hooks up like no other. im sold, i want to buy a ripsaw track.

Right now the clutch and gearing is stock. Have not done anything to it yet, I may do alittle clutch work to it next year. With stock set up it will carry me (6'-0" 270#) across Houghton lake @ 100+mph. I just would like for it hook up and get out of the hole better.
