I have a SRX with a Viper skid and 144" tracks USA extensions. I just installed rear drop down brackets for the skid. I dropped it a total of 3" center to center. I also dropped down the center mounts 1.5" center to center as suggested on this site. Now my transfer rods are binding (bottoming out)after about an inch or so of travel. What should be my next step? Thanks.

Anyone know the answer? I need to figure this out as my Super Charged Warrior is down and out for now.

If you have the long transfer rods on your sled you might have to install the shorter ones or cut 1 1/2 off the tops and reweld to the axle spacer.Than redrill the bottom holes in your rails to accept them.Ist i would undo the bottom bolts on them and cycle the suspenshion with the perfered spring setting and try the fra on hard.If they still bottom out you can try 4 things! raise the front of sled with viper trailing arms and spindles with longer travel shocks to get the sled level again, run a shorter stiffer spring in the rear, change the lenth of the bars that run beside the rear shock to compensate for the geomitry change,or most guys have taken the rods off and put a strap for raising limit.

You have the center to center off from the middle mounts to the rear mounts. Maxdlx

double check the measurements. if its off as little as 3/16" it will cause major issues.

Rather than remount the brackets and add more friggin holes to my tunnel can the bottom of the transfer rods be relocated?

If they are the long ones yes.Did you try to cycle it with the rods undone?

They are the long ones. I just unhooked them and the suspension rolls through the full range of travel just as smooth as can be.

when i dropped my 136" pro action i had to remove some of the spacers and if i remember correctly, use the front holes on the rails for the transfer rods.

Remove the bottom bolts that hold the rods than the top rear skid bolts ,knock off wheels, remove rods, cut the rods off the spacer or pipe the goes beside the top wheels with a hacksaw.Cut 11/2 inch down from your first cut. Reweld rod to spacer makeing shure it is straight and in the same area you cut off.I dont grind the weld so i can line it up.put back on the sled and mark centre for the holes on the bottom.Make shure you are pulling down when you mark.Than drill and bolt back on.

Nope, I get what you are saying. I have been checking out the transfer enhancement kits. I may consider this route. Just not sure about trailability.

Ok its just a copy of the short rods that come with some models. The welding might be a pain or you could buy some short rods and remount.ltrlen

I actually should have a set of the short rods somewhere in one of my parts bins. Ever made a transfer enhancement kit? Looks pretty simple. Just some belting and bolts?

I have a solution. I relocated the the longer adjustable rods for now. I have a full travel again.
