I was trying to bring the mrs's 95 v-max 600 back to life. I replaced the rear suspension as the old one was cracked and shot. Anyways, found an old exhaust in the attic of a 96 v-max xt in mint shape. The current exhaust is rusting bad. When I went it swap in they are different? I always thought 94,95, and 96 v-max's were identical. Am I going to run into trouble with this exhaust? Are the carbs the same? Do I need to rejet? Thanks for your help in advance as I am new to the site. :2strokes:

Yes you should rejet as the XT is a more free flowing exhaust,it should
work people have done it i have not,you need the manafold as well.

jet to '96 specs and keep and eye on plug color..

I have a new manifold pipe as well that I will install. I believe the 95 had 153.8 main jets in it and if the carbs are the same I would probably have to lean it out a bit. 96 jetting recomends 152.5...not much difference. Also have the helix and primary spring fron the xt...use it as well?
