I have a 98 srx 600 that Im setting up for my son and it has a hauck clutch kit in it and seems to run pretty good. what I need to know is what rpm should it be at and or if anyone has a tryed and true clutch set up for this sled. the sled runs ok, all stock, studded, light weight rider, main reason for change is it was clutched in 98-98. Im just trying to make as good as a can for my son .. thanks guys

85-8600 rpm on a long pull, absolutely not over 8600. 83-8400 out of the hole is ideal, creeping up to 85-8600 on a long pull.
the 600 srx is better of at 8300-8400 rpms..

I owned 2 of em & raced for 3 years. 8150 holeshot climbing to 8400 at wot. Amnything kinda close is fine for trail riding. They fall off huge after 8500 rpm. Don,t go any higher then that.

I found that mine really died above ~8400 RPM. Sent you a PM as well.
thanks guys, my son and I are going to work on this weekend. shouldnt be to bad to get dialed in . hard part is getting him watch the tach and tell me what its doing. but its ok cause Id rather have him watch were he's going than starring at the tach or speedo,, funny part is with him "85 lbs" on that 600 it goes pretty dam good!!!!!!!!!

Guess they are a little bit less forgiving than the 700's hey. I never actually tuned a 600 before, just assumed (wrongly in this case) that they would have the same op. rpm as the 700.
