I've been looking for a widening kit for my 90 Exciter. I've been looking forever for one and haven't been able to find one. Let me know and thanks!

I think Bender made such a kit, also check with Aaen Performance, might be on their website.

THANKS!!! Time to go look at their sites. I love the sled (it is one of the few with the 596cc motor), but it is a little too narrow for my "big boned" self.

They can really haul when built up properly. I think Aaen is who I'd truck with a clutch set up, so ya know. Happy hunting!

Yeah chris-
Bender racing would be your best bet for some old school Yamaha parts.
They used to make LOTS of stuff for the ol' exciters/exciterII's-Wide kits,
stiffer stabilizer bars,willwood hyd.brake kits,fox shock upgrades...etc.
Never heard of a 596cc exciter-do you mean 569cc??! or is it a big bore.
Anyway-good luck-they may have stuff for ya-if you call them, ask for
tim or terry-they may know about more old stuff thats sittin around
waiting for you????
Also-maybe haucks?-Riechards? they have been around a long time too.

It's been awhile since I've been to this site. Anyway, I have been trying to get ahold of all the sites to see who might make a widening kit for the ol' Exciter. Anyway, why I THINK it is a 596 cc motor is that is what the wonderful belt catalog says the Exciter motor is for the 1106 belt. The normal 1118 is WAAAAAY to short. Of course, I could be wrong and it could be some wild motor someone put in or some form of a different clutch setup. Dunno. Anyone have any ideas??
Well, time to go send some more E-Mail to those people so I can see if they make one OR if I have to have someone make something up here via a CNC machine (I have a friend who works at a machine shop and another one who just got four non-CNC machines).

I know that Reichard's Performance Center in Germantown Wi used to sell them as well. They might be worth a phone call their number is 262-251-8472. Good luck

Okay, NO ONE seems to have this any more. SOOO, it looks like I get to fab something up and try to get a market for it (IF it works, gotta look at it CLOSELY before I ask anyone to do anything for it).
I figured out the 596cc thing. According to the Dayco belt book, the 8x-90 Exciter 570 models were REALLY 596cc's When they went to the Exciter II's in 91, they went back down to 569cc's. Go figure.
