i melted a piston last week end took the motor apart noticed the heads are pitted from the ring breaking off no cylinder damage thank god brand new jugs but for the pitted head there not deep do i just leave them or try to grind smooth with dremel ?????????? 
at least make it smooth, the amount of material youll removewont affect it. You dont want all that jagged edges in there, it will create hot spots and cause detonation. I like to use the little scotchbrite pads on a die grinder to smooth out the squishband, just smooth it out dont try and remove all the dents, just make it semi smooth.
