I have a 1989 exciter and ther seems to be an issue as it comes up to shifting like it has use more power to overcome the shift and as it gets up there you can feel it does not seem right. Once it gets past the shift its as smooth as grease. I put new ramp slides and a new belt as well. I'm stumped. Does anybody have any suggestions?

take the primary clutch off the motor and disassemble it. sounds like it is time for new bushings in the sheive and maybe in the rollers as well if they dont have a flat spot now.

you need a bushing driver and a hammer. the driver can be bought at your local auto parts store or you can pay dealer to install them. make shure they slide free by hand 1st before you assmble it to put it on the sled. should be free to move by hand but tight enough that it doesnt rock on the shaft.
