99 Srx Light Question

I was thinking of converting my single headlight to the newer style dual light. I was wondering if this is possible?

I know I will need the obvious parts, but will the generator be able to handle the extra draw of the light. If not can I repace the generator with a newer style?

Yes it can be done but you need the whole new style ignition system, including the new stator and pickup coils. You also need to get the cases machined because the new style pickup mounts in a different location. Also need a newer CDI from a 300W srx (00-02). I dont remember if the harnesses are different are not. And then naturally the headlight and gauge pod.

Thanks for the reply, I dont think it will be worth the hassle at this point. I figure it will be a $600-$700 upgrade for minimal gains.
