ok so yesterday i was cruising down the lake 140 km/h and i blew a belt.
I changed it up and took off again and noticed a big difference in the rpms...
I would normally engage at 3500 now im engaging at 4500. Just doing 40kmh and im at 8 grand.
i figured it was my belt considering my spare one is old and worn out. but no...
i bought a brand new one today and same deal 4500 engage and 8000 at 40 kmh.....
anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

It sounds like your belt is to big. Could the one you bought be the wrong one? any chance of it?

part numbers said it was for my machine
and the belt that broke worked great...and my new belt is exact same part number as my old one.

That old belt might have yanked the engine out of alignment also.
Broken primary should make it under rev.. Right?

yes when the blow in a million pieces sometimes some of those small pieces get stuck in the secondary. Happened to my buddies machine on the lake. we had to take the secondary apart to take all the belt particles out before we continued the ride.

ill check the alignment and pull the secondary and primary off and clean them

Alignment is one thing. Did you check center to center also? How high is the belt riding in the secondary? What kind of belt blew. If its a 8dn them things really need to be ******ed up to blow like that.

Is perfect like an 1/8" above the secondary? Is it shifting normal other wise? How many washers are on the bolts on the inside of the secondary?
There's also nothing like a yamaha belt.
