I recently purchased an '87 Exciter with extensive modifications. I wasn't aware of how much was done to it until spending time on this forum. My biggest discovery is that the engine was built by Bender Racing. However, the company was sold last year, and they threw out all the specs and jigs and whatnot...what a shame.
I was told that I need to run 100octane in it. The head and jugs are stamped BR 023. I also got a special set of extra pistons, which are Yamaha parts that were modifed by Bender. Each box says 'Bender Cut' on it, handwritten. I'm told these were due to the port modifications made. I'm also told it has 44mm carbs, but I haven't taken anything apart to look.
Can anyone shed any light on what I have? Any ideas on Horsepower?
The sled also has a set of PSI twin pipes on it.
