I bought a new pair of yamaha polar boots and 1st time out my feet were wet in 10 minutes. I took them back to the dealer and was told i didnt buy goretex so they wont do anything about it. Am i wrong to think a $110 pair of boots should keep my feet dry for more than 10 minutes? Everytime i wear them i have wet feet right off the bat. Any suggestions on the matter?

You could get a pair of Gore-tex liners for them. I know that doesn't solve the "paying to much for non-water prof boots" but you could try it.

Nope just riding..and not even in deep snow either. Think my sneakers would keep my feet dryer...lol. I know i should`ve spent the extra $ for gore tex but come on...how can they sell a "snowmobile" boot that wets through in 10 minutes.

shoulda got yourself a pair of some old Fashiond Snowboard boots. Just cut the metal Clips on the top off. i love wearing sneakers on sled, dosn't feel so Constricting.

usually my feet dont get cold from wearing sneakers, However my hands do. Handguards dont do Jack! lol

The dealer doesn't know much about the boots they stock and sell apparently.

Sounds to me like your boots may be defective. The description of your boots in the accessory catalog says uppers are made of "waterproof" materials (nylon is usually laminated or coated with a waterproof product for cold weather and/or winter applications) and the seams are "sealed" (using a waterproof type tape, so water cannot enter through the holes from the stitching process). I designed products for a company (Hodgman, Inc.) that manufactured waterproof outdoor products including cold weather/winter boots and like you say there is no reason that your feet should be getting wet from the use you describe.

Many companys buy and manufacter their products with Gore Tex, which is a brand of waterproof/breathable laminate. Some companies make thier own waterproof and/or breathable materials to use with their own products. Product can still be waterproof even if they aren't made with Gore Tex.

Tell your dealer the boots are defecive, cite the catalog description and ask for your money back. The dealer should be able send the boots back to the manufacturer for credit. Or, ask the dealer who makes the boots and deal with them directly. Chances are a "known" company actually makes them for Yami.

Good luck!

You wear sneakers on your hands :brr ?

Sorry couldn't resist.

Use Snow Seal

Go to Gander Mountain or a similar sportsman's store and get some Snow Seal. Put your boots in the dryer to get them good and hot and then apply liberal amounts of snow seal to them. Let it cool and harden and then work-in the remaining snow seal. This will waterproof your boots for quite awhile. You may have to do this a couple of times each year but it is definitely worth it for boots that leak.

Yeah no luck with the dealer i bought them from. Basically told me tough luck. Guess i`ll think twice about buying another new sled from yamaha...buy a sled and get it home ..wont run...they probably tell me too bad cause i bought a $8000 sled. If i buy a $11000 sled it will run....lmao

I have those altimate boots, they are fantastic. I can wear my regular socks and hardly ever even feel the cold. had cold toes last weekend but I was traveling 6-75 mph and it was -10* with regular sneaker socks. had I worn my winter socks I wouldnt have had any issues. and I have NEVER had wet feet EVER.
