After my thumb froze last weekend I checked to see if there was power the throttle warmer w/ a test light . it flashed on and off constantly what gives? power to the handwaarmers doesn't do this..

The power to the handwarmer circuit is unregulated AC. The handwarmer and thumb warmer cause the voltage to collapse (full load voltage) to about 14 volts AC but when the load is disconnected, the voltage will soar (open circuit voltage) to as much as 300v ac. I once connected a heated face shield to this curcuit and all was well until I turned off the hand warmers. The face shield melted and caught fire. Use a multimeter set on a high enough AC range and you should be able to read the voltage. If you find that the thumb warmer is intermittant, replacing it is probably the only solution.

Ok, there is some confusion here, so which sled are you talking about?
