does anyone know what happens when the carb switch starts to go bad?how does it run?will it run this is on a 97 700sx with about 5000 miles on the sled. and if its going south is there anyway to bypass it? the sled will sometimes act like it only running on one cylinder and will start backfiring and if you shut it down and restart it it'll run fine. this has been ongoing problem for a couple of years and I just don't know whats causing this. I'm thinking its something electrical

TORS is causing your problem.
The wire connection is near the middle carb. Unplug it. Plug the 2 ends of the wire harness together.
Be carefull because you will then have no throttle over ride.
If you have a frozen throttle cable it will take off. You can allways install a tether.
I have had my 01MM700 bypassed for 2 seasons with no problems.
I do however allways put my emergency brake on when starting on the trailer and check the throttle operation.

i had the same problem on my 98 sx 700. i replaced the pin and bushings in the throttel lever. what happens is the bushings ware soo much that the switch in the throttel does not strike correctly, thus inableing the TORS system. after replacing the switch i have never had the problem. hope this helps.
