Wondered if anyone had an idea what would be causing slides to wear out on a 98 srx. The limiter straps are pulled up to within 1" of being maxed out and it has the extra wheel kit on it, but it seems to be wearing out the slides right near the middle. Towards the back of the rails it shows almost no wear, and at the bend in the rails (where they normally wear first) shows little wear. I wore a set out in less than 80 miles in Hurley Wisconsin last weekend in pretty decent snow conditions. Any help would be appreciated. :2strokes:

1. Track too tight
2. Bent rails
3. Something rubbing on inside of track.

You say has marginal snow kit (extra wheels) which would save your front from wearing.

I would have to agree with everyone else on this. Track too tight.
80 miles?!?! Wow!
I hope this fixes it for you.

A few things!

First install graphite sliders. They are great and last forever. Mine wore out right in the middle just behind the idlers too. I have 4000 miles on mine and they are barely worn. Stock set wore out in a 1000 miles. Then make sure track tension is within spec.

If you haven't worn through to the metal rails your fine. They will wear real fast then stop. Don't worry ride. Ive had mine on for 3 season and have not worn since the intial wear.
