i know many of us have beaten this problemaround alot. my02 viper has just plain shitty hand and thumb warmers.it is my understanding that the reostats control the cdi box which controls the power to the warmers, if this is correct is it possable to change the supply wire to say the battery instead of the cdi. and also could you run the stock hand warmers on 12volt dc power on a high low switch like some older sleds. i'm just tired of having cold hands.i've checked all the connections, all are good.please any info would apreciated.hey mr viper 700 any ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :letitsnow :2strokes:

it seems like we are both having strange heating problems but I think I have a fix for this one.... the stock grips are wired in series and doesn't work to well. So I wired mine parallel.. disconnect the wires that run between the grips and connect them directly to the poss and neg connectors in the harness.this way each grip gets its own power supply ...my grips work great now

I've had 2 vipers now and both are terrible. Same problem- cold hands! The parallel wiring isn't hard on the cdi? that sound like something good to try if not!

running the warmers off the battery would require a ceramic resistor or your gloves would melt to the grips...lol, you could set them up like the old hot grip system worked.

I dont know the results of sustained running the grips in parralae insted of series, I might guess the cdi box circuit may quit sonner then normal, but it would only be a guess.
