I noticed today my handle bar is not pointing straight when the skis are the bar is off a little..
The book said to loosen both nuts on the relay bar then turn with a wrench on the flat spot..
Any tips before I go out there and try this? Can both nuts be gotten too ok?

well, its like this, you cant get to the nut under the motor, so, what you do is unbolt the rod end that comes out from under the motor, then you can turn the end in the rod and bolt it back together.

you can also do it by adjusting the tie rods, if toe is correct, lengthen one side the same number of turns as you shorten the other side.

Thanks I'll try those..

My concern also is what caused this.. I'm not sure as I'm not the only one rideing this sled.

Check out your entire steering system. If you are that far off, there is a reason and you likely have a damaged part. Start at the steering post, and end at the ski. As mentioned above, the splines on the spindles are usually the first to go when you hit something just right. Also the steering post can start to break if enough pressure has been put on it.

The Yamaha manual is better.

You can look at the parts diagram on www.yamaha-motor.com to see the whole steering system and how the components connect to each other.

Damon thanks again.

ok...Ding

Where can I get this manual your suggesting.. I may need more help in the future..

I aligned the handle bar by loosening the jam nut on the steering relay arm coming out from under the moter and turning it. I put blue locktite on it.

Also I put a jack under one end of the handlebar and got it back up level with the other one..( I believe this all stemmed from when my wife rolled it. Luckily she was sitting still when she went down and over the bank.) So I't s looking better..

I noticed the left ski didn't set level it was off a bit..I tried to adjust the camber but I have a skid plate that is rivited to the back I believe and couldn't get at the jam nuts. So I will leave that for later.

A couple of questions..
1 is there a special wrench or way that will get into the jam nuts? I noticed even with the skid plate down it would be hard to get at the upper one..

2. Should I of ajusted the handlebar with the tie rods instead ? When I loosened the steering relay jam nut and turned the rod the other end is now not up against the jam nut..
