I have a 2002 SxViper and I am just wondering if anyone can tell me the best place to connect my heated shield?

Under the handle bar pad.Look for blue wire leading to hi-lo headlight switch.Splice to that and ground to handlebar.Do not splice into the hand or thumb warmer lines.

I have a 00 SRX and I have the heated shield plugin spliced in to the tailight. It is the same wire as the blue one under the handle bar. I spliced in using a connector and then run the wire through the elastic straps to hold the front of the seat. It is also nice this way because if you don't ride with a heated shield sometimes you can tuck the connector under the front part of the seat. Stay with the blue wire though.
