Belts can have alot to do with it, different hardness and stickynessMICHAELSF150 said:how can i fix it from over reving, it didnt do this last year, the only difference is i put a ultimax 3 belt on it. I already took out the little spacers on the secondary clutch. is there anything else i can do?
i only use OEM belts and i think alot of others do to.
try a OEM belt or add more weight to your clutch weight tips.

is there anything in the tech center that shows how to put more weight on the tips? I have never done any work on a clutch before.

Could this also be caused by dirty clutches?

Usually the dayco belts drop rpms from the 8DN, but the 8CH is softer than the 8DN, dont know how it compares to the dayco though. But more than likely from your results the dayco is a harder, less sticky compound than the 8CH or 89L that you used to run and now the clutches need more gripping force in order to hold onto it. Give the clutches a good cleaning with hot, soapy water and a scotch brite pad, blow dry with compressed air, check condition and tighteness of all rollers and bushings, and add a little weight to the tips as Daman said. My method of extraction for the stock rivets usually involves a center punch and drill press. Works well.
