My 99 SRX 700 had the tach and fuel gauge quit working at the same time. The oil light also began blinking 7 times like some type of code. The sled still ran fine. Could this be a wiring harness worn thru like so many people have with the temp light or could it be something worse????
sound like cause the oil lamp its a warning for low oil ....the temp guage give code

I was wrong - it was the temp light that was flashing not the oil light
Sounds like the YPVS or Power Valve Servo Motor has a problem. Take the cover off and see if it is working when you idle down below 900 rpm.

I agree, Power Valve Servo problem on the light
