OK, similar to bluelighting, having trouble with clutching 02 SRX. Running 8dn-20's, 4.5g both holes, w-w-w spring (new), 48/40 Advantedge, Grn spring (new). Engine is new, carbs are spotless, 42.5 pilots, needles stock setting, 148.8, 148.8, 150 mains, stock airbox, Viper reverse gearing, 1.25 Ripsaw track. Powervalves are new and set properly. Deflection and belt height correct. Sled pulls hard with 90* wrap @ 8400 to 70mph, then bogs, rpms drop to about 7400 and just stays flat unless I let off. Have tried 3 belts (8dn) same results. Clutch faces are clean. If I let off just slightly, like 90% power, it does not do it. But it will do it every time at WOT between 65-75 mph depending on snow conditions. I tried various wraps today from 60 (worse) to 100 (better). Even at 100 wrap it's still there, though somewhat easier to get past that point. Once past about 70-80, you can go WOT again. Anybody have any suggestions, like the title says, I'm stumped!. BTW I am assuming the belt is sucking down in the secondary or am I wrong?

Not good at all.I know it is fustrating.I am trying to get my 2002 SRX clutched right.Just looking for a 48/40 Helix. Now using 51/43 and launches at 8600,climbs to 8800 and back to 8500/8600 WOT.My speed is only at about 102 mph.Took me a season and a half to get my SXR600 finally dialed in.,using 51/43 Helix.I don't know the answer to your proble.Go and ask Turk.He probably could help you.He has helped me in the past.

The power valve servo moter might be falting out.
Blue I don't think it's a servo issue, I can still accelerate at a high enough rpm that the valves are open anyway. And I think it would be much more sporadic/indefinite. Plus I'm not getting any codes, valves and cables are new. Thanks for the input tho.

Try a green at 60 or 70 wrap. Your secondary spring also might be partially sacked. Check buttons on secondary clutch also.
Thanks for the reply Turk. I have a new green in the secondary, and new buttons. The 48/40 is an SLP modded 5 degree supertuner Advant-edge. So today I tried 60, 70, 75, 90, 95 and 100. 100 worked the best, could go ALMOST full throttle right thru. At 60 wrap it would bog out at about 60mph. Could a bad bushing in the moveable sheave do this? It has a little slop, ordered one earlier in the week when trying to debug this problem, but the dealer ordered the wrong one , so didn't change it out yet. Will a 47 work with 4.5 in both holes?

I had a problem with a 98 servio it would run fine if you held it down but let up a little it would bog till about 100 km than go like a mother again. No warning light and you would swear it was the clutching.Mr V suggested replacing and walaw she was fixed.good luck
Well I'm going to get the bushing replaced Monday, see if that helps. Everything seemed tight in the primary when I did the weights, so I don't think it's a primary issue. I guess if that doesn't work, I'll put the clutching back to stock. If it still does it, then I'll have to look at the servo. Oh Blue you're from Ontario, don't ever buy gas from a UPS/Co-op gas bar. Must be real high ethanol content. Got gas (premium) in Teeswater on a 400 klik ride Friday, and DCS was going all the time after fueling there. Had to ride easy till I could burn half a tank and get fuel again. Was fine after that. I think I read somewhere a while back the government put the allowable ethanol content up recently. I guess we'll a have to ride 4-strokes soon.
Well got the bushing replaced this am, put back together with green @ 90 wrap, still doing it. Must say with the bushing fixed it's way better on the big end, say from 70>95mph. Guess that bushing was causing some binding. Pulls right thru speed range fine at just slightly under full throttle, very frustrating indeed. Can go full throttle 0 to 55/60 and 70 on up, just kind of not in between that range. Seems like the power is overcoming the clutches, don't know how else to explain it. I guess a 47 helix is what I'll try next. Sled runs absolutely flawless aside from this glitch.

put a stock rx1 helix in it, with a 48/40 and plus being a 5 degree changed helix, its gonna be goofy like it is, who knows where your at with it.
